During the Middle Ages, in the Netherlands and in Geneva, homosexuals were sewn into sacks and drowned in a lake or the sea. In England, homosexuality was associated with high treason, and therefore accused sodomizers were hanged.
In Spain and France, they were mercilessly burned alive. All over Europe homosexuality was brutally repressed and punished.
